On-farm produce safety is important to fruit and vegetable growers for a number of different reasons- to meet regulatory, sales venue, or buyer requirements and to ensure that they are selling the safest product possible. On-farm produce safety education may include training on the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), USDA Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), training to sell in certain farmers markets, and other general on-farm produce safety education.  This workshop will be held on a fully-equipped diversified vegetable farm featuring an automatic vegetable washer and other postharvest equipment.  Free produce food safety supplies are available for attendees.
