In this course, participants will learn about the impact fire protection districts and even ambulance districts can have on the property hazard insurance premiums paid by the homeowners, business owners, and local governments of such districts.Participants will learn about the Insurance Services Office (ISO) and their Fire Suppression Rating Schedule (FSRS) and Public Protection Classification (PPC) and how ISO PPC field audits using the FSRS can be used to determine those property hazard insurance premiums.Participants will review sections of the FSRS and discuss how such districts can prepare for the best possible ISO PPC field audit, including the influence the boards of directors and chief administrators of such districts may need to exert over public water supply districts, municipal water departments, law enforcement, 9-1-1 emergency boards, etc., including some regulation of some water suppliers through district ordinances and existing state statutes.Participants will also learn about retrofit sprinkler tax credits available to the businesses in such districts.
