Program Description:

Canvas Quickstart 5.0

This site follows our course development process with a multitude of hints, how-to's and resources. Canvas Quickstart 5.0 will guide you through the design and development of your online courses.  We have provided links to additional resources in each module.

Essentials of Course Management 5.0

This self-paced course introduces options and examples to help you think through how your noncredit course will function on the UM System One Canvas platform and integrate with our website, Catalog for enrollment, myExtension, our course management portal and other technologies. You will explore various student enrollment, access and participation options, how to add internal and external TAs, designers, additional instructors and reviewers. You'll understand your course completion options and how to offer and use course completion certificates. Lastly, we'll look at your course renewal options, copy a course or add a new course enrollment section to an existing course.

Canvas "Live"

This site provides you with the knowledge and skills to facilitate synchronous online course sessions using the Canvas-Zoom learning technology integration (LTI). Using our Canvas-Zoom integration will make it easier for you to schedule and host sessions and post session recordings. Our Canvas-zoom integration will make it easier for students to join your  sessions and view session recordings.  And, your students don't have to download and install any software or set up a Zoom account.

MU Extension Course Quality by Design

This site is not a "course" in the academic sense. There are no learning objectives, assignments, grades or course completion requirements.  This site is a resource and guide to help you implement MU Extension's online course continuous improvement process.  Your first time using our Course Quality Review process, consider the QCR something to aspire to, not a judgement on your existing course or a barrier to offering your course.

Digital Accessibility for 21st Century Programs

This site introduces you to a 7-Step process to ensure your course will provide an accessible learning experience for all learners.  This course is best taken before building your first online course.  You'll understand the importance of building UDL principles into your course. It is so much harder to go back after the course is built to apply these principles .  Start your Canvas learning here. Digital Accessiblity for 21st Century Programs will continue to serve you as an ongoing resource.
