2024-01 Online Refresher Course

GOALS:

This course fulfills the Missouri Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (MOBEMS) and NREMT’s requirements for a refresher course in continuing medical education for Emergency Medical Technicians at the Basic (EMTB) and Paramedic (EMTP) level of licensure, which may be used towards renewing your license. Continuing education units (CEUs) will be awarded upon successful completion of online course content and/or classroom participation.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The EMS education program covers all emergency medical concepts and techniques currently considered to be within the responsibilities of the EMT-Basic providing emergency care in a pre-hospital setting as set forth by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services of the State of Missouri.  This program meets or exceeds course requirements established by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Missouri Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.  The education program will also cover topics related to future trends and care methodologies in emergency medicine.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

1.  To provide a structured course of review to prepare the student to complete the MOBEMS renewal process which is based on the NREMT’s NCCP National Component which requires 30 hours of continuing education.
2. To provide the student with information on current and emerging topics in emergency medical services.

CLASS SCHEDULE and DETAILS:

CEUs will only be awarded upon completion of each course module.  All module contents must be completed and include, but not limited to, participant interaction, quizzes, discussions, and other items.  The maximum CEUs awarded are noted in each module.

CEUs are awarded based on module completion.
