2025 Laclede County Extension Youth in Agriculture Award
The University of Missouri Extension in Laclede County is proud to announce Joanna “JoJo” Broner and Davina Blackburn as the recipients of the 2025 Laclede County Youth in Agriculture Award, sponsored for the second consecutive year by Mid-Missouri Bank. Each award recipient received a $250 check during the 4-H Recognition Banquet held on October 11, in recognition of their achievements and contributions to agriculture in Laclede County.
Joanna “JoJo” Broner, a dedicated 4-H member, embodies the energy, perseverance, and spirit of Laclede County agriculture. Since 2017, JoJo has helped operate her family’s pumpkin patch while excelling in a wide variety of 4-H projects—including horse, poultry, foods, and archery. Her hard work has earned numerous Blue Ribbons, Best of Show honors, and top placements at the Laclede County, Ozark Empire, and Missouri State Fairs. JoJo’s passion for agriculture, community engagement, and continuous learning make her an outstanding representative of Missouri’s next generation of agricultural leaders.
Davina Blackburn exemplifies the leadership and dedication recognized by the Laclede County Youth in Agriculture Award. A four-year member of FFA, Davina has completed the full animal science course pathway at her high school and continues to advance her education through veterinary science class. Her supervised agricultural experience (SAE) at a local veterinary clinic has provided hands-on experience assisting with surgeries, treatments, and animal care. Davina’s commitment to animal health, coupled with her strong community values and academic excellence, highlights her as a future professional in Missouri’s agricultural and veterinary fields.
