Healthy Plants Healthy Bodies engages children with the life cycle of plants and exposes them to a variety of vegetables. With a range of activities that foster all areas of children’s development, our program aims to improve preschoolers’ vegetable intake and capture their interest in the natural world.

Healthy Plants Healthy Bodies is comprised of seven Activity Sets and five sets of Teacher Support Materials.  The Activity Sets include a range of activities that promote all areas of children’s development.  The Teacher Support Materials create a foundation for gardening with children and best practices for working with young children.

A distinguishing feature of Healthy Plants Healthy Bodies is its flexibility. Activities can be implemented with small groups of children or with full groups of children.  And, although the activity sets are ordered to follow a growing season, implementation of the program can be tailored to meet the unique needs of different groups of children, garden arrangements, and weather conditions.
