The Missouri 4-H Great Outdoors Photography Contest encourages observation within Natural Resource areas and allows youth to demonstrate their skills in photography. This contest provides an opportunity to showcase the photographic work of all Missouri 4-Hers.
Age Divisions:
- Junior- Ages 8-10
- Intermediate- Ages 11-13
- Senior- Ages 14+
Rules:
- All Missouri 4-H members MUST register in The Great Outdoors Photo Contest in 4-H Online before submission.
- If registration for this event in 4-H Online is not completed, photos submitted will be disqualified.
- All enrolled Missouri 4-Hers are eligible to submit photos.
- Photos can only be submitted to ONE category ONE time.
- Photos must be submitted using the link at the bottom of this page
- Any other method of submission will not be accepted or considered.
- Multiple photo submissions are allowed, but they must be separate categories.
- All photos must be taken between February 1, 2025, and September 15,2025.
- Submissions can be uploaded from February 1, 2025, until September 15, 2025.
- All photos must be taken on a digital camera or cellphone.
- All photos must be uploaded in .jpeg, .jpg, or .png.
- All photos must be the original work on the 4-H member.
- Photographs may not contain user placed text.
- Text or wording that is part of the original photo (Photo of State or National Park sign) is acceptable.
- Black and White photos are allowed in all categories.
- Cropping, minor lighting adjustments, and red eye reduction is allowed.
- Any further modifications will result in disqualification.
- Panoramic photos are not allowed.

Awards:
- Awards will be presented for 4 different areas.
- Category Awards: 1st-3rd place for each age division in each category.
- Best of Category Awards: 1st place for each category.
- Best of Age Division Awards: 1st place for each age division over all 10 categories.
- Best of Show Overall: 1 winner over all 3 age divisions.
- Contest results will be announced October 13, 2025.
- Results will be posted on the Missouri 4-H Facebook page, Missouri 4-H website, and Missouri 4-H press release.
- All award winners will be emailed using the email listed in 4-H online.
- Awardees will be recognized at the Shooting Sports and Natural Resources Award Banquet on October 18, 2025, at the Mathewson Center in Sedalia, Mo.
- All winning photos will be displayed at the award banquet on October 18, 2025.
