The National 4-H Headquarters at the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) at the U.S. Department of Agriculture wants to extend the exciting world of 4-H to U.S. military-affiliated youth. The goal is for military youth to become involved in 4-H.
Counties with installation based programs
Missouri is home to two military installations: Fort Leonard Wood, Pulaski County and Whiteman Air Force Base, Johnson County. The installations participate in different levels of 4-H programming and staff development.
Effective 10/1/2014, Missouri 4-H no longer has any dedicated military-grant funded staff. This should not stop military-attached youth from getting involved in their local 4-H program!
Military youth staff can facilitate this connection by searching the county MU Extension center directory. Ask for the county 4-H youth development professional to find out about local, regional and state opportunities.
