The Missouri Extension Master Gardener Program exemplifies an impressive integration of service, education, and community engagement throughout the state. This 2025 Annual Report highlights the significant contributions of all Missouri chapters, which collectively dedicated tens of thousands of volunteer hours to public education, community initiatives and enhanced food security.

In 2025, Extension Master Gardeners remained committed to the program's mission of fostering horticultural knowledge through outreach, volunteer leadership, and research-based education in communities of all sizes. Their collaborative efforts in demonstration gardens, youth programs, community food systems, public events, and environmental stewardship showcase the extensive reach of Extension's initiatives across Missouri. These impacts underscore the achievements resulting from volunteer hours, illustrating the myriad ways in which Extension Master Gardeners enhance the quality of life for residents.

Throughout Missouri, chapters invested 146,268 volunteer service hours at a value of $5,088,664, providing horticultural education to tens of thousands of individuals while bolstering food security through significant produce donations to local food banks and organizations. Additionally, they expanded pollinator habitats, supported school and youth programs, maintained public gardens, participated in Extension outreach events, and fostered engagement through social media and local communication. These efforts, spanning urban and rural landscapes alike, reflect not only the commitment of Extension Master Gardeners but also their creativity and leadership in strengthening communities and advancing the statewide Extension Master Gardener mission of “Helping Others Learn to Grow”.
