Extension Changemakers

Extension Changemaker logo, illustration of an apple with a house and bike within it and a hand reaching around it.Are you compelled to make an impact on the health of your community? Then the Extension Changemakers program is for you! Changemakers will develop, implement and lead initiatives that strengthen their communities. Extension field specialists and Extension Engagement Specialists (EESs) can offer guidance, resources and assistance with implementation. Changemakers should be empowered to take charge, seek support and form partnerships within the community. These efforts will enable Changemakers to improve their own health and the well-being of their neighbors.

How to get involved:

  1. Complete a background check and sign the MU Volunteer Code of Conduct form.
  2. Review the training manual with an Extension specialist.
  3. Work with an Extension specialist to begin your internship project.

To start making a difference in your community, talk with your local Extension specialists about your interest and they will connect you with the right person. If you have any questions, email Candace.
