The Office of Engineering Extension serves as the primary outreach arm of the MU College of Engineering through a partnership with MU Extension and Engagement. The office serves as the gateway through which companies may request engineering technology and business development assistance and expertise. The office also works proactively to engage industry and communities to enhance economic development.

Engineering Extension uses engineering faculty and student expertise as well as linkages to other economic development outreach programs to deliver services via individual consultations, in-person or online education and community and regional-based programming for industry professionals. Services are customizable and rooted in applied research and established best practices. No two companies or challenges are alike, so we focus on providing individualized services along with assistance with implementation of steps toward improvement.

Our partnerships include not only other Extension and Engagement programs, but also state and federal agencies; other University of Missouri schools, colleges and campuses; economic developers; researchers; and private sector investors and technical assistance providers.
