Professional background

Jennifer Erickson took on the leadership role at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (Osher@Mizzou) in 2017 and brings more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership, development/fundraising and managerial experience to the program.

From 2010 to 2016, Jennifer served as executive director for Columbia Access Television, the community media center and 24/7 public access channel for the City of Columbia, Mo. For three of the six years of her tenure, the organization won the Overall Excellence in Public Access Award, the top award given nationally by the Alliance for Community Media.

For the seven years prior, Jennifer worked as development officer for Investigative Reporters and Editors, a nonprofit training organization for journalists housed at the Missouri School of Journalism. In that role, she coordinated IRE's fundraising efforts, including a $5 million endowment drive, and assisted with program development for IRE's training seminars and conferences offered throughout the U.S.

Jennifer has a B.A. in history from the Pennsylvania State University and has attended and presented for multiple workshops, seminars and conferences on best practices in fundraising, development and educational programming. She has served on the boards of directors for the Columbia, Mo., organizations Voluntary Action Center and the North Village Arts District.
