COLUMBIA, Mo. – Golfers hit the greens in support of Missouri 4-H youth at the eighth annual 4-H Clover Classic Golf Tournament on June 6 in Columbia, Mo. Co-presenting sponsors were The Climate Corp., a division of Monsanto, and Great American Insurance Group’s Crop Division.

Cattle producer learns ‘new normal’ through MU Extension’s AgrAbility program
ST. JAMES, Mo. – Cattle producer Carey Portell braces for November weather. Late-stage arthritis makes it hard to feed 120 head of cattle when it’s cold. Portell says she is a 39-year-old person living in a 76-year-old’s body. She’s learned a “new normal” through the help of University of Missouri Extension’s AgrAbility program and the Missouri Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
AgrAbility program helps horse trainer begin ride of his life
NEW FRANKLIN, Mo. – Zane Volkmann always wanted to be a horse trainer. A serious accident weeks before his senior year of high school slowed his gait, but it didn’t throw him. He cinched up his saddle and began the ride of his life. “You just pick your lip up off the ground and go ride,” he said.
