Youths test knowledge at State 4-H Horse Bowl Contest

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Missouri State 4-H Horse Bowl Contest drew 45 youths from across the state on March 1. Participants tested their knowledge in a quiz bowl setting on the University of Missouri campus. The event was hosted with the help of the Mizzou Equine Teaching Facility and held at the MU Animal Science Research Center.

In the second contest of the 2026 Mane Event, participants competed in one of three age divisions: junior-junior (ages 8-9), junior (8-13) and senior (14-18).

Top five junior-junior competitors: Charleigh Hall, Callaway County, first; David Reinkemeyer, Osage County, second; Eve McAsey, Andrew County, third; Karlee Reinkemeyer, Osage County, fourth, Daniel Boxdorfer, Perry County, fifth.

Top five junior individuals: Easton Hall, Osage County, first; Payson McAsey, Andrew County, second; Sophia Locurto, Phelps County, third; Maya Watson, Boone County, fourth; and Conrad Schulte, Osage County, fifth.

Top junior teams: Newton County, first; Osage County, second; and a combined Andrew and Lincoln County team, third.

Top five senior competitors: first, Blake Steen, Osage County; tied for second, Adalena McAsey, Andrew County, and Josie Schulte, Osage County; fourth, Anna Rehagen, Perry County; and fifth, Peyton Coffey, Perry County.

Top senior teams: Osage County, first; Perry County, second; and Andrew County, third.

This fall, members of the newly formed All-Star team will represent Missouri at the Eastern National Round-Up and the All American Quarter Horse Congress. Andrew County will compete as a team at the All American Quarter Horse Congress.
