Sept. 14 meeting to cover MU Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifer Program and fall SW Missouri sale

STOCKTON, Mo. – The board for the Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifer Program in southwestern Missouri will meet 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, to discuss the program and plan the November sale, says Patrick Davis, University of Missouri Extension livestock field specialist.

The meeting will be held at the MU Southwest Research, Extension and Education Center, 14548 Highway H, Mount Vernon.

Davis will lead a discussion about the program. Thiago Martins, MU Extension state beef cattle reproduction specialist, will present information about the SMS program and related research he plans to conduct with program participants. The board will also review business items, including a report on the May sale and plans for the November 20 sale at Joplin Regional Stockyards near Carthage.
