BRANSON, Mo. – Registration is open for the 2018 Missouri Master Gardener State Conference, Sept. 28-30 at Chateau on the Lake in Branson.

Gardeners can choose from a variety of tours and sessions, said University of Missouri Extension state horticulturist David Trinklein. Branson entertainers the Hughes Brothers will perform during a Friday evening welcome reception at the resort.

Gardeners can choose from four daylong fall foliage tours through the Ozark Mountains on Saturday. The tours range from College of the Ozarks’ orchid collection to hardscrabble farm life at Ivy Jean’s Ozark Farmstead. Gardeners also can choose from two “make it and take it” workshops at the Chateau on the Lake instead of the tours.

The keynote speaker is Cody George, horticulturist at Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Ark.

Sunday class topics range from orchids to shiitake mushrooms to deer-resistant perennials, said Trinklein.
