VERSAILLES, Mo. – The Ozark Prairie Master Gardeners and University of Missouri Extension will hold a free field day Sept. 20.
The event is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Britton Farm, 22125 Old Five Road, Versailles.
MU Extension specialists, Missouri Cactus and Succulent Society, Missouri Bluebird Society, Friends of the Monarchs, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Naturalists, Missouri Birds Observatory and Ozark Prairie Master Gardeners will offer sessions on pond management, growing orchids, using worms to create compost, mushroom gardening, feeding plants, care of cactus and succulents, woodland herbs, bluebird and bird flu updates, the impact of artificial lights in nature, rose care and portable sawmill demonstrations.
Lunch will be available on the farm. The Dixieland Garage and Kevin Wilson will provide entertainment in the dining area.
