Interim Director John Worden of the University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute (MU FRTI) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Regional Training Coordinator for Region B, Charlie Peel of Clark, Missouri. Regional training coordinators are essential to the Institute’s mission of providing comprehensive continuing education and training to the fire service and emergency response personnel in Missouri. Coordinator Peel will be responsible for the counties of Adair, Chariton, Clark, Knox, Lewis, Linn, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Putnam, Ralls, Randolph, Schuyler, Scotland, Shelby, and Sullivan.

Charlie Peel is a Captain and EMT for the Southeast Randolph Fire Protection District and is currently the first Vice President of the FFAM and Board of Directors for the Randolph County Ambulance District. Charlie started his career in the fire service as a volunteer firefighter and EMT in 1988. Charlie began at MU FRTI as an Adjunct Instructor in 2019. His area of concentration in training is the Certified Fire and Ambulance District Board Training, but also has other areas of interest.

Charlie has a long history with MU FRTI as a student since his joining the fire service, and upon accepting the position had this to say, “I value the importance of education and training in the fire service. I am looking forward to working with all the Region B departments to ensure their training needs.”

MU FRTI would like to welcome its newest member to the team and looks forward to Charlie’s continued work with the Institute in this new capacity.
