Young people across Missouri are proving you don’t need magical powers to make a difference—just the courage to do good. Through a partnership between 4-H and NBCUniversal, youths nationwide are showing how small acts of kindness can create powerful change.
In celebration of the movie “Wicked: For Good,” which opens in theaters Nov. 21, NBCUniversal is supporting 4-H youths who lead with purpose and a little green.
4-H, the official nonprofit partner of the film, has launched the #4HForGood Challenge, a nationwide call to action inviting youths, families and friends to:
- Do an act of good.
- Post it on social media with the heart-hands symbol.
- Tag four others to spread kindness.
- Use the hashtag #4HForGood and #MO4H.
The challenge, which runs through Nov. 21, shines a national spotlight on young changemakers who write thank-you notes, volunteer at shelters, organize food drives and plant community gardens, said Jill Bramble, president and CEO of National 4-H Council.
“Today’s 4-H’ers are proving you don’t need to have magical powers to change the world—you just need the courage to do good,” Bramble said.
According to a Tufts University study, youths in 4-H are nearly four times more likely to contribute to their communities and twice as likely to aspire to leadership and live with purpose.
