COLUMBIA, Mo. – Golfers returned to the green June 7 in support of Missouri 4-H youths for the 12th annual 4-H Clover Classic Golf Tournament at the A.L. Gustin Golf Course in Columbia.

Co-presenting sponsors were Climate Field View and Great American Insurance-Crop Division. “The generosity of our partners and friends is incredible,” said Rachel Augustine, director of the Missouri 4-H Foundation. “Together we raised more than $76,000 for Missouri 4-H, a record for the tournament. Thirty-three teams joined us in support of the University of Missouri Extension 4-H Youth Development Program.”

Tournament chair Bob Idel and Marshall Stewart, MU vice chancellor for extension and engagement, thanked players for their ongoing support of youths in Missouri before challenging teams to have fun on the golf course.

The Bob Idel Championship Cup for first place was presented to the team of Bob Hutton, Butch Turner, Don Steele and Roger Wilson. Awards for the second place Championship Flight went to the American Outdoor Brands team of Chad Glascock, Cale Johanning, William Martin and Doug Brown.

First place A Flight went to the Central Crop Insurance team of Adam Stanberry, Kirt Kleindienst, Bart South and Matt Suhr. Second place A Flight went to the Missouri State Fair team of Mark Wolfe, Richard Fordyce, Tony Benz and Loyd Wilson.

First place B Flight went to the MFA Inc. No. 2 team of Craig Poppinga, Denise Kloeppel, Jason George and Stephanie Shoemaker. Second place B Flight went to the SMC team of Ryan Niemeyer, Scott Niemeyer, Earl Niemeyer and Justin Edmond.

The Missouri Cattlemen’s Association and Beet Box provided lunch, which was prepared by Don Nikodim of the Missouri Pork Association and Mike Deering of the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association. Fechtel Beverage & Sales was the beverage sponsor.

Foursomes teed off under the banner of hat sponsor FCS Financial. Margaritaville was hosted and sponsored by FCS Financial Crop Insurance.
