COLUMBIA, Mo. – Golfers returned to the green in support of Missouri 4-H youths Sept. 21 at the 11th annual 4-H Clover Classic Golf Tournament in Columbia. Presenting sponsors were Climate Field View, a subsidiary of Bayer; and Great American Insurance-Crop Division.
“The generosity of our partners and friends is incredible. Together we raised more than $69,000 for Missouri 4-H, a record for the Clover Classic Golf Tournament,” said Rachel Augustine, director of the Missouri 4-H Foundation. “Thirty-one teams joined us in support of the University of Missouri Extension 4-H Youth Development Program.”
Co-chair Bob Idel and MU Vice Chancellor for Extension and Engagement Marshall Stewart welcomed players, thanking everyone for their ongoing support of youths in Missouri before challenging teams to have fun on the golf course while supporting Missouri 4-H.
The Bob Idel Championship Cup for first place was presented to Team 21, represented by Ben Gallup, Al Green, Tom Schwacker and Terry Nixon. Awards for the second place Championship Flight went to the Commerce Trust team of Lyle Johnson, Dave Baugher, Kyle Reynolds and David Nivens.
Awards for the first place A Flight went to the FCI Advisors-Midwest Trust team of Bill Courtney, Jeff Otto, Brian Perott and Stu Berkley. Awards for the second place A Flight went to the American Outdoor Brands team of April Anderson, Chris Lang, Troy Brocaw and Tanner Gill.
Awards for first place B Flight went to the Three Gents and a Lad team of Jim Meyer, Alex, Meyer, Jim Patrico and Kelly Schwalbe. Awards for second place B Flight went to the Missouri Farm Bureau team of Jennifer Poindexter, Shannon Dravenstott, Tyler Madsen and Blake Rollins.
Foursomes teed off under the banner of hat sponsor FCS Financial.
