Export plan outline. The Missouri Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) recently brought a new international export business planning platform to small businesses across the state. Knowing the critical role sound export business planning has on the success of international business ventures, coupled with the fact that 95% of the global consumer base lives outside the U.S., the SBDC worked to streamline access to a vast global marketplace.

Built through collaboration between the Missouri SBDC and LivePlan, an interactive business planning platform, and based on the International Trade Administration’s Sample Export Plan Outline, the tool functions as a robust export business planning template, complete with instructions, examples, export how-to tutorials, and international worksheets to provide a hands-on learning experience. By outlining and teaching the principles of exporting, while prompting users to put their knowledge to use through open-ended planning questions. The tool serves to meet the export business preparation needs for companies new to the international stage.

Interactive and cloud-based, the online platform allows the user to work at their own pace, and seek input from their Missouri SBDC counselor as necessary.
