I am pleased to announce that Damon Reynolds has been appointed as the new director of the Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI).

Damon brings more than 20 years of experience with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, where he has served in key leadership roles, including sergeant, lieutenant, captain and jail administrator. His dedication to public safety, corrections management and professional development has made a lasting impact on the department and the broader law enforcement community.

As jail administrator, Capt. Reynolds led critical initiatives to enhance staff training, detainee care and facility security. A significant achievement in his career was leading the Boone County Jail through the National Institute of Jail Operations accreditation process, making it the first nationally accredited facility within the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. His expertise in law enforcement training and standards will be invaluable as he takes on this new role.

Please join me in welcoming Damon Reynolds to MU Extension and LETI. I look forward to the leadership, experience and vision he will bring to our law enforcement training programs.
