COLUMBIA, Mo. – Individuals and teams gathered March 11 in support of the Missouri 4-H Foundation and the Missouri 4-H shooting sports program, raising more than $20,000 at the first annual Missouri 4-H Clover Clays Charity Shoot at Prairie Grove Shotgun Sports in Columbia.

“We’re thrilled with the support shown by our community for this inaugural event,” said Rachel Augustine, Missouri 4-H Foundation director. “The money we raised will help us enhance the 4-H experience for more than 6,000 young people enrolled in 4-H shooting sports projects across the state. Through these projects, young people learn about the safe and ethical use of firearms while they develop self-confidence, personal discipline, responsibility, teamwork and sportsmanship.”

Co-chairs Travis Scott and Caleb Colbert, along with Missouri 4-H program leader Lupita Fabregas, welcomed participants, thanking everyone for their support of Missouri 4-H and encouraging teams to have fun in spite of the rainy weather.

Bass Pro Shops was the presenting sponsor. American Outdoor Brands was the T-shirt sponsor. Graf and Sons and Hodgdon Powder Co. were the awards sponsors. Belly Market was the lunch sponsor, and Burr Oak Brewing and the Law Firm of Haden and Colbert were the beverage and snack sponsors.

Nutrien Ag Solutions was the station sign sponsor, and the station sponsors included Assured Partners; Rachel, Adam and Alex Augustine; Cedar Ridge MO LLC; MidwayUSA; Midwest Mailing; Missouri Friends of NRA; and Pro-Pumping & Hydrojetting.

Additional donors included Adam Augustine, Dungarees, Bob Idel, MidwayUSA Foundation, Tony Owens, Travis Scott, SK, Starline Brass and What-Ya-Say.
