BOONVILLE, Mo. – The Boonslick Master Gardeners had an exciting weekend as members participated in the Missouri Master Gardener Association annual online conference.
The Boonslick Master Gardeners were recognized in three categories after their nominating committee submitted The Children’s Learning Garden for Project of the Year, Boonslick Master Gardeners for Chapter of the Year and Eddie Hudson for Master Gardener of the Year. The group was honored with all three awards in the medium-chapter category.
The accomplishment is especially notable because the Boonslick Master Gardeners currently have just 23 members. Although the group was classified as a medium chapter, which typically has at least 25 members, they competed against larger chapters and still received recognition in all three categories.
The awards highlight the dedication and impact of the Boonslick Master Gardeners and the many ways they serve youths and the local community through gardening education and outreach.
The group is looking forward to another successful year and is welcoming new members who are interested in gardening, learning, volunteering and sharing their knowledge with others.
