SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Sally Hargis, vice-president and chair of the board for Coca-Cola/Dr. Pepper Bottling Company in Springfield, will be the guest speaker at the next Mizzou Community and Alumni Leadership Network meetings set for noon, May 4, at 425 Downtown, 425 Walnut St., Springfield, Mo.

This free event is provided by the Greene County MU Extension Council. Each quarterly meeting features a guest speaker who is also a graduate of the University of Missouri.

Hargis has a bachelor’s in home economics and journalism from the University of Missouri. This year, the Coca-Cola/Dr. Pepper Bottling Company in Springfield, celebrated 100-years as a family-owned business. The company is very engaged in the community which Hargis will address. 

The leadership network is open to all Mizzou alumni and residents of Greene County that want to learn from some of the foremost leaders in the Springfield area.

"Each time we meet, we focus on a Mizzou alum who is leading in the community," said David Burton, county engagement specialist with University of Missouri Extension. "The luncheon is a great way to learn what this leader is doing, what they are reading, what they are learning, and what is influencing their local efforts."

Additional luncheons in 2022 are already scheduled for Aug. 3, and Nov. 2 at 425 Downtown, Springfield. Rachel Anderson, Director of the efactory and a previous student body president at Mizzou will be the guest on Aug. 3. Greene County Circuit Judge Jason Brown will speak on Nov. 2. He is a 1985 graduate of Mizzou and is Chair of the Missouri Supreme Court's Committee on Civic Education.
