COLUMBIA, Mo. – American Outdoor Brands Inc., an industry-leading provider of products and accessories for rugged outdoor enthusiasts, and Missouri 4-H, part of the nation’s largest youth development organization, announced on July 30 that they will partner to provide youths across Missouri with equal access to development opportunities provided by Missouri 4-H Shooting Sports and Natural Resources programs. These programs serve more than 4,600 youths in shooting sports, forestry, conservation, wildlife habitat education, sportfishing, camping and more.
Brian Murphy, president and CEO of American Outdoor Brands, said, “We are excited to announce our partnership with Missouri 4-H. For generations, 4-H has helped young people and their families gain the skills needed to be proactive forces in their communities and develop ideas for a more innovative economy. In Missouri, 4-H programs connect with thousands of young people, providing equal access, regardless of their circumstances, with opportunities to learn about the shooting sports and engage in outdoor activities. That aligns perfectly with our passion at American Outdoor Brands (AOB) to collaborate and innovate, delivering exciting products for rugged outdoor enthusiasts. Our partnership with Missouri 4-H will allow us to participate in these important, life-changing programs. It will also allow our employees and their families to experience every facet of 4-H involvement as members, volunteers and donors. We look forward to a long relationship with Missouri 4-H, working together to prepare our youth for leadership and strengthening our communities across Missouri.”
The partnership provides for a combination of AOB sponsorships, cash and in-kind support, as well as volunteer support and access to company facilities for 4-H Shooting Sports and Natural Resources program activities. American Outdoor Brands will establish a 4-H club at its headquarters in Boone County, Missouri, and will invite employees to participate by becoming 4-H certified shooting sports volunteers and club leaders. The company will also provide access to its on-site archery range for club and county-level 4-H shooting sports activities and events, and Missouri 4-H members and their families will receive a 30% discount off all American Outdoor Brands products, which include Caldwell shooting range and marksman products, Hooyman land management tools, UST camping gear, and BUBBA fishing tools and knives.
Lupita Fabregas, director of the Missouri 4-H Center for Youth Development, said, “Missouri is rich in outdoor activities, and the American Outdoor Brands partnership with Missouri 4-H will support our youth education and engagement in 4-H shooting sports and natural resources programs.”
“This is a groundbreaking commitment on the part of American Outdoor Brands,” said Marshall Stewart, MU vice chancellor for extension and engagement. “Not only are they going to help us provide opportunities and programs for Missouri youth, but their long-term commitment to the growth of Missouri 4-H programs through corporate volunteerism will make a lasting impact in Boone County. We look forward to growing this special partnership over the years and think it can serve as a model for other such collaborations across the state that will make an impact on kids and their families.”
