Calling all livestock grazers looking to intensify or increase current grazing efforts without the stress of fencing. Virtual fencing is an emerging technology that used GPS enabled collars to create invisible fence boundaries. Join the Center for Regenerative Agriculture, MU Extension, The Fertilizer Control Board, and Missouri Cattleman’s for an educational and engaging lunch and learn opportunity. 

This 5-part webinar series dives into the opportunity of virtual fencing through educational topics and firsthand experiences.   

Sessions will take place the last Friday of each month from 12 to 1 pm.  

  • June 27 – The Basics
    • During this session, we will dive into the basics of how the virtual fence technology works, the companies involved and how the virtual fence can be used to support a variety of operational goals. 
  • July 25 – Opportunities for Grazing on Cropland
    • Learn about potential species to plant, when to plant them, and how to use virtual fencing to best take advantage of those forage sources. Finally, hear from a graduate student using virtual fencing on cropland. 
  • August 29 – Intensive Grazing on Perennial Systems 
    • During this session we will talk about the opportunity for virtual fencing in perennial pastures. Learn about intensive grazing management techniques in relation to forage availability. 
  • September 26 – Pasture Nutrient Management
    • Join us for a discussion on pasture fertility management and how virtual fencing might be a tool for improved nutrient distribution. 
  • October 24 – Producers and Providers
    • Hear first-hand from producers and companies currently working with virtual fencing. Come and ask those burning questions to determine which virtual fence technology best fits your operation.
