Urban Homesteading: A 4-H Series on Regenerative Agriculture and Sustainability Are you a youth aged 8–18 or a family interested in learning how to live sustainably and make the most of your resources? Join the University of Missouri Extension for our Urban Homesteading series! This program is designed for all skill levels and acreage sizes, focusing on practical, achievable steps to help you get started with regenerative agriculture.
2025 Topics Include:
- Permaculture: Transform challenges into solutions with regenerative principles.
- Chickens: Learn to raise meat birds, keep hens for eggs, and use them for composting.
- Beekeeping: Discover the essentials of beekeeping and honey harvesting with River View Supply in Savannah, Mo.
- Perennial Fruit: Learn to integrate edible landscapes or design a fruit tree guild for any yard size.

Who Can Join: Open to youth aged 8–18. Adult are welcome and attend for free with their child.
When: Meets during the 4th Thursday February through September 6-7:30pm
Cost: Free for current 4-H members, $25 for non-members.
Location: MU Extension, Buchanan County Office will be our main site.
Remote site visits may be used depending on the topic area.
