Sheep and Goat Monthly Webinar Series. Topic: Strategies for Managing Dewormer Resistance in Sheep and Goats. Parasitic infections, particularly from gastrointestinal worms like Haemonchus contortus (barber pole worm), are one of the biggest challenges for sheep and goat producers. Repeated use of dewormers has led to widespread resistance, making traditional treatments less effective. This virtual meeting will provide producers with evidence-based strategies to combat dewormer resistance and maintain the health and productivity of their herds. Producers will learn how dewormer resistance develops, why it is a growing problem, how it impacts herd performance and profitability and mitigation strategies.
