Beginning welding metal for on farm use. Participants will start in the classroom to discuss and learn about the process of welding, the welder itself, what the welding rod means, and safety before, during, and after welding metal. We will then proceed to the shop to learn about striking the arc, appropriate distance to the metal as well as correct speed while welding by performing it in the welding booth.
Every participant should wear closed toed leather shoes, long natural fibered pants with no holes or frays, and should bring a long sleeve shirt made with natural fibers.
Welding helmets, leather gloves, and safety glasses are required while in the shop, but will be provided.
