SBIR Bootcamp is a focused, two-day training designed for entrepreneurs and innovators with technologies that have strong commercial potential and align with federal research priorities. This program supports participants who are interested in applying for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants.
Attendance on both days is required to fully participate. During the bootcamp, participants are guided through the full SBIR/STTR proposal development process. The instructors break down each section of the application and explain how to clearly present your technology, research plan, and commercialization strategy.
The bootcamp is taught by Julie Assel, an experienced and highly regarded grant writer, and Dr. Julie Edge, a Missouri SBDC technology development and commercialization expert. Their combined expertise ensures participants receive both technical guidance and strategic insight.
The program includes group instruction, interactive discussion, and one-on-one coaching as participants work through their proposals. By the end of the bootcamp, you’ll have developed a solid outline for your SBIR or STTR grant proposal and a clearer understanding of what’s required to submit a competitive application.
