This educational workshop provides home gardeners with practical information on planting and managing cover crops in vegetable and home gardens. Participants will learn how cover crops can improve soil health, reduce erosion, suppress weeds, increase organic matter, conserve nutrients, and enhance garden productivity over the long term. The program will discuss the benefits and limitations of various cover crop species and provide guidance on selecting appropriate cover crops for different gardening situations and seasons.

Attendees will explore common cover crop options for Missouri gardens, including cool-season and warm-season species, and learn proper planting, management, and termination techniques. By the end of the program, participants will gain the knowledge and resources needed to successfully incorporate cover crops into their gardening practices and build healthier, more productive soils.
