Educational experience that covers the fundamental concepts of pest control (weeds, disease, and inset damage.)  Provides a focused examination of identification, pesticide regulations, safety, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM.)

State extension plant pathologist Dr. Mandy Bish will give an update on the spread and management of tar spot and southern rust of corn, as well as other pressing disease issues in corn and soybean. Dr. Ivair Valmorbida, new state entomologist, will be discussing insect pest sampling, thresholds, and management in soybean.

Some of the weed management research topics that will be discussed include research results related to the use of drones for spraying and spreading; management of herbicide-resistant waterhemp; new herbicides; new weed management options in pastures; and many other topics and periodic stops along the guided tour.

For certified crop advisors, CEU credits will be awarded.
