The Mental Health First Aid training presents an overview of mental illness and substance use disorders in the U.S. and introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact and overviews common treatments. 

Participants who take the 8-hour course are certified as Mental Health First Aiders.  They learn a 5-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources and knowledge to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care. http://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org/cs/program_overview/

A week before class an email will go out with instructions on how to complete the pre-work which much be completed before class. Also your Zoom link will be sent as well in email after you register.
