Local producers, farmers, and ranchers face numerous challenges in complying with the unique labor laws and regulations in the agricultural sector. Running a small business means wearing many hats, and sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to look for answers. Join the US Department of Labor's Wage & Hour Division and us as they share an overview of federal labor laws and explain how these laws affect local producers and their businesses.

Topics covered will include:

  • Labor Regulations
  • Wages, Hours, Benefits
  • Youth Labor Regulations
  • Volunteer Labor
  • General Employment Regulations
  • Independent Contractor Requirements
  • Termination and Final Pay
  • Labor Regulations and H-2A Visas

This is a great opportunity to meet with local representatives from the US Department of Labor’s Wage & Hour Division. They will provide helpful information about federal labor laws, explain how these laws affect local producers and their businesses, and answer questions.
