  • 4:00 PM — Optional tour of the Habitat for Humanity Garden and Young School Museum
  • 5:00 PM — Social time and potluck (bring your best dish from the veggie garden or a beautiful bouquet from your flower beds!)
  • 6:30 PM — Guest speaker presentation  ---  Guest Speaker: Eric Jackson, MU Extension Director of Risk and Volunteer Management
  • Topic:
    • "Facts vs. Myths: Code of Conduct, Background Checks, and Insurance, Oh My!”
    • What do MU Extension’s policies *really* say about volunteer expectations and protections?

Join us for a myth-busting session that will clarify common questions about:

  • * Code of Conduct requirements
  • * Background screenings
  • * Volunteer recognition
  • * Insurance protections (including when workers' comp and special event coverage may apply)

This session is designed to provide clarity, reduce confusion, and ensure you're confident in your role as an Extension volunteer.

Time will be reserved for your questions throughout the presentation.
