Purpose

To provide health professionals the opportunity to gain knowledge in interdisciplinary approaches to clinical management and ethical treatment of older adults. Complex care issues common to all who care for the older adult will be discussed. The focus is on promoting excellence in gerontology health care by keeping abreast of the latest evidence-based practices.

Learning Outcomes

  • Learners will self-report increased confidence to integrate the last evidence-based practice guidelines into their practice setting.
  • Learners will self-report an improved ability to practice geriatric medicine to the highest standards by integrating best practices from physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, licensed professional counselors, psychologists, and administrators across hospital, nursing home, and clinic settings.
  • Learners will self-report increased knowledge related to the interdisciplinary care of older adults with complex medical conditions across care settings.
