What if your organization didn’t have to depend on a single grant, donor, or funding source to keep an important program going?

Braided funding is an intentional approach to bringing together multiple funding sources—such as grants, government support, philanthropy, sponsorships, individual giving, earned revenue, and community partnerships—to support a shared program or community goal. Rather than treating each funding source as a separate “pot of money,” organizations can strategically align resources, relationships, and responsibilities to build stronger, more sustainable initiatives.

In this interactive 90-minute virtual workshop, participants will learn, through real-world examples, practical tools, and guided activities, how to identify potential funding partners, connect their organization’s priorities with shared community goals, and confidently make the case for investment.

Your mission is bigger than any one grant. Your funding strategy can be, too.

Participants will receive tools and resources to help them begin developing their own braided funding strategy, including:

  • Guided questions for identifying potential funding partners
  • A framework for connecting program outcomes to shared community priorities
  • Action steps for strengthening your organization's funding ecosystem

Most importantly, participants will leave with a first draft of their own braided funding strategy.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is ideal for nonprofit leaders, executive directors, development professionals, program managers, board members, community organizations, charitable organizations, and anyone responsible for sustaining or growing mission-driven programs.

Whether you're launching something new, trying to sustain an established program, or wondering how you're going to fund next year's priorities, this session will help you think differently about where resources can come from—and who might be willing to build the solution with you.

Braided funding isn't just about finding more money. It's about finding the right combination of resources and relationships to make meaningful work possible.
