The 2025 Farm Family

Grison Dairy started in 1997 when Swiss immigrants Heinz and Vroni Grison moved to Ava, Missouri. The Buff family believes the most economical and environmentally friendly farming practice is to have the cows graze on pristine pastures for the highest quality milk. The dairy has both Registered Holstein and Brown Swiss cows, with an emphasis on breeding cows that combine milk production, milk quality, longevity, and style. Their four children grew up on the farm. In 2010, Adrian, the oldest, decided to go back to Switzerland to do a three-year apprenticeship program as a cheesemaker. He worked at Napf Chäsi for the three years and learned hands-on experience in the cheesemaking process.

In the fall of 2018 Adrian had the opportunity to develop his own cheeses under Grison Dairy & Creamery brand name. Over the years, the lineup of cheeses they offer began to grow. Cheeses are available in many stores around the state. To learn more, visit the Grison Dairy website.

Heinz is currently running the farm. Sandra is working on the farm and managing social media. Adrian is working on the farm making cheese, deliveries and sales at places like the farmers' market.
