County council election

Guidelines and ballot information

Citizens of voting age in Christian County, pursuant to the provisions of Sec. 262-577, R.S. Mo. 1969, will have an opportunity to vote and elect members to the University of Missouri Extension Council in January. The elected and appointed members of the Extension Council will guide and direct Extension work within the county. There are two seats open for elective positions in District I East and four seats open for elective positions in District II West. The nominees and their districts are as follows:

District name: District I East

District description: District I East is the same as the general election Eastern District.

Additional nominations may be made by petition of 25 or more qualified voters residing within the district, filed with the Council within 20 days after the publication of this notice of election. Forms for nominations are available in your county Extension office located at:

Voters will also have the option of voting online, in person or by mail. Voting begins 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 and runs until Friday, Jan. 24, 2020.

Online: Secure online balloting will be conducted on this webpage. The election ballot will be available in the area below when the election opens on Jan. 18, 2020.

In person: Ballots are available at the Christian County MU Extension office during normal business hours (8 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday). Completed ballots must be in the Extension Office by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020.

By mail: Eligible county residents who are unable to vote in Ozark or online may request a ballot be mailed to them by calling the Extension office at 417-581-3558. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by January 23, 2020, to be counted.
