On the third Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m., the Associate Vice Chancellor for Extension & Engagement will host a broadcast to all MU Extension regions.
Next session: June 17th at 10 a.m.
We invite you to be part of the June Fireside Conversation about self-care — one that goes beyond bubble baths and quiet moments to explore the deeper emotional practices that sustain us. Together, we'll reflect on what it means to set boundaries with confidence, say “no” without guilt, and embrace adaptability in a world that constantly shifts. Through their own experiences, guests will provide validation and practical insight for Extension professionals, highlighting how seeking clarity and validation is an act of emotional honesty and mutual respect.
We invite you to explore a culture of care that values emotional awareness, clear communication, and the courage to honor our needs — and the needs of others. Join us in advancing a self-care culture that is intentional, compassionate, and rooted in our Extension mission. Come listen and share.
Upcoming session: July 15th at 10 a.m.
Unbusy: Reframing Time, Boundaries, and Productivity in Extension
In a culture that rewards busyness, it can be hard to protect time for focused work — especially in Extension, where responsiveness and availability are often seen as job requirements. In this session, we’ll reframe how we think about time, productivity, and boundaries. We’ll explore common mental traps that keep us in motion, habits that sabotage deep work, and the dealing with the discomfort of not being busy. We’ll also talk about setting boundaries with clients and co-workers in ways that respect both your role and your time. You’ll leave motivated to rethink your calendar, empowered to take control of how your work is structured, and encouraged to use your autonomy with accountability — so your most important work actually gets done.
