Description
Each year at UM System Extension and Engagement Week (EEW), UM System faculty and staff engage in professional development, learn about the work being done by their UM System colleagues and leaders beyond the UM System and explore opportunities to advance their work through partnerships.
This year’s theme is “Excellence in Extension and Engagement.” The goal is for EEW to serve as a platform for faculty and professionals to gain knowledge, expand skills, build relationships, and stay abreast of developments in Extension and Engagement, ultimately contributing to personal and professional growth.
Outcomes
- Enhance skills and competencies relevant to Extension and Engagement (i.e., technical skills, leadership skills, communications skills, research skills, etc.).
- Increase knowledge of trends, research and best practices within Extension and Engagement (learn about and/or enhance skills in new methodologies, tools, and technologies that can improve career performance).
- Engage in networking opportunities.
- Enhance professional growth and career advancement by attending workshops and sessions focused on program development, career development, leadership skills and communication.
- Enhance motivation through inspirational keynote speaker and sessions that encourage participants to strive for excellence, overcome challenges, and pursue career goals.

- Program highlights and updates from MU Extension senior program directors from 8:30-9:10.
- Alex Demczak and John Thomas’s keynote address, “Elevating Excellence: Taking Your Leadership to the Next Level” from 9:15-10:30.
- Vice chancellor for Extension and Engagement and UM System chief engagement officer Chad Higgins’ discussion on next steps for MU Extension and UM System Engagement from 10:30-11:00.
