- Perform Trauma and Medical patient assessments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in EMT-Basic practical skills within the scope of practice.
- Understand basic vehicle operation, MCI operations, and aircraft utilization.
- Understand basic human anatomy and body system physiology.
- Provide adequate patient care based on assessment findings and questioning.
- Adequately write patient care report forms.
Advanced EMT Program
192 Didactic / 176 Clinical Hours
- Demonstrate an awareness of abilities and limitations.
- Demonstrate the ability to relate to people.
- Have the capacity to make rational patient care decisions under stress.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Function as part of a comprehensive EMS system.
- Perform interventions with basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance.
- Perform limited advanced skills and pharmacologic interventions beyond the level of an EMT.
- Understand basic human anatomy and body system physiology.
- Demonstrate knowledge of operational needs and utilization of resources.
- Perform comprehensive assessments of medical and trauma patients.
- Demonstrate proficiency of practical skills with the scope of practice required of an AEMT.
- Display sound clinical judgement based on assessment findings and history gathering.

Critical Care Program
90 Hours of advanced continuing education

- A minimum of 2-years of experience as a paramedic (recommended)

- recognize and perform critical care patient packaging.
- recognize critical airway and ventilation management issues including surgical airways, ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP
- understand thoracotomy.
- perform and maintain chest tubes in critical care.

- expand pharmacologic knowledge and its role in critical care.
- interpret laboratory data.
- recognize advanced 12 Lead ECG with correct interpretation and treatment.
- understand and perform hemodynamic monitoring in the critical care patient.
