Free Training Opportunities for Child Care Providers
University of Missouri Extension in partnership with the Missouri Team Nutrition Program will be offering a two-hour nutrition training for child care providers on Thursday, February 26, 2015. The workshop is approved by the Section for Child Care Regulation for 2 clock hours.
This training, offered by Nutrition and Health Education Specialist Bethany Bachmann will address two topics. “Eating Well – Basic Nutrition for Kids and for You,” which gives an overview of basic nutrition facts and introduces MyPlate as a tool to choosing healthy foods and “Childhood Obesity and Missouri’s Eat Smart Guidelines for Child Care,” discusses the current childhood obesity epidemic and how it relates to child care. It will also introduce the Missouri Eat Smart Child Care initiative as a way to improve child care meals.
The workshop will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday February 26th at the MU Extension Center at 137 West Main Street, Fredericktown, MO. The training is free, but pre-registration is required by calling 573-783-3303 by noon on February 24th, 2015. The University of Missouri Extension is an equal opportunity/ADA institution. Private Applicator Training
University of Missouri Extension will be offering a private applicator training at the University of Missouri Madison County Extension Center on Monday, March 10th, 2015. The training is for certification and re-certification of a pesticide license. Individuals involved in production of agriculture commodities and 18 years of age or older may attend.
The training will begin at 6:00 pm. If you need certification or re-certification please call the University Extension Center at 573-783-3303.
Build Your Board is a convenient training program designed specifically for board members of non-profit organizations. Created by University of Missouri Extension community development specialists with over 50 years of combined experience in the field, the information presented is reliable and resourceful.
Online training offers convenience and flexibility. Participants can log in at any time and can take all 16 lessons at once or can break the training up in 15-minute intervals. No meetings to attend and no travel expenses mean both time and money will be saved.
