2017 Ripley County University of Missouri Extension Council Election 

The Ripley County Extension Council announces the list of 2017 candidates for the upcoming election. Votes can be cast online by clicking link to the left on this page or below any locations.

The Ripley County Extension Council is comprised of elected and appointed citizens who guide local MU Extension educational programming. County council members: work with regional specialists to provide the county educational programs, manage finances of local extension operations, provide personnel to carry out extension activities, and elect and organize the local extension council.

Any person aged 18 or older who resides in Ripley County may cast one ballot in the Ripley County Extension Council election.

Ten candidates seek positions on the council and the five receiving the most votes will be elected to serve two-year terms.

The election will be held from January 4th to January 13th and will consist of voting in person at the Ripley County Extension office in the Courthouse, clicking link to the left on this page or at one of the following businesses where a ballot box is located.  Ballot boxes will be in place from January 4th to January 13th at Bank of Grandin-Doniphan location, Super Town & Country Supermarket, West Y, Harp’s Country Mart, Doniphan & Naylor Nutrition Centers, Naylor Quick Stop, People Community State Bank Doniphan & Naylor locations, Southern Missouri Bank-Doniphan location, US Bank-Downtown and Northend locations, Medical Center Pharmacy, Hometown Pharmacy, E&S Pharmacy, and Shopko Pharmacy.

Missouri state statutes create county extension councils to work with University of Missouri Extension. The publicly elected (and appointed) council members assist in planning and carrying out extension programs in their county, providing local extension governance and representing the diversity of the county’s changing population.
