Elections were recently held for Carter County Extension Council!

Those elected are: Diana Blakemore, Sherilyn Clark, Linda Grubb, Jeanette Heavin and Alan Snider.

4H Schedule of Activities

March 2019


Horsemanship - Meets every 1st and 3rd Monday (March 4 and 18) from 6pm-8pm at the Harvey Reynolds arena (Take 21 south, turn Rt on Co. Rd. 229, then Lt on 227, the arena is on the Rt)


4-H Explore and Sure Shot Archery – meets after school every other Monday that school is in session (March 11 and 25th)


Van Buren 4-H club meeting – March 13 after school We will be refurbishing the green house at the VBHS.  Meet at the picnic tables in front of the HS after school and then move to the green house.  


Ellsinore 4-H club meeting – Ellsinore 4-H meets each 3rd Thursday of the month (March 21st) from 6pm – 7:30pm at the Ellsinore FEMA Bldg. 


Shooting Sports Day with Oregon County – March 9th at the Rover Gun Club in Rover Missouri.  We will meet at the VB Nutrition Center at 8:30am to coordinate rides.  The shoot will be from 10:00am-12 noon.  Lunch will be provided. 

Youth “Spring Break’em” – March 30th  -  4-H and FFA Trap shooting event at the Rover Gun Club. 

Quad County Shooting Sports Contest – June 2nd at the Apple Creek Conservation Range Jackson, Mo.  For information see Diane, Roger, Carol or Bill Moriarty


Agriculture – If you are planning on showing an animal this spring, you should already be getting ready.  If you have not gotten your 4-H Agriculture Guide Sheet, let Diane or Martha know at the next meeting.
