Program instructors

Mizzou College of Engineering’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Department has a long history of graduating civil engineers who go on to design and construct smarter roads, buildings, and other infrastructure to improve communities. Construction management sessions will be facilitated by:

  • Dr. Carlos Sun, Director of the Construction Management Programs: Dr. Sun is a licensed attorney and professional engineer and has specialized in transportation and construction for over 30 years. His research areas include construction management, work zones safety, contracting, and legal issues.
  • Dr. James Ogechi Kereri, teaching assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Dr. Kereri has a Ph.D. in Engineering Science with a concentration in Construction Management. He previously worked as a construction manager with a five-year record of success overseeing all phases of multimillion-dollar construction of residential and commercial projects, as well as infrastructure and environmental projects for government and private-sector clients.

Missouri Training Institute (MTI) has provided customized training and consulting services to improve business performance and organizational effectiveness for public, private, and not-for-profit organizations for 40+ years. Leadership and supervisory sessions will be facilitated by:

  • Rae Lyon, Certified Professional Coach, ELI Master Practitioner, and Associate Director for the Missouri Training Institute (MTI). Rae has over 20 years of management, leadership, and training experience in the banking and finance, human resources, education, and marketing industries.
  • Dewey Thompson, director of the Missouri Training Institute. Dewey has trained thousands of public and private sector professionals across the country on change, leadership, management, coaching, teambuilding, customer service, and building effective workplace environments. He served as the lead facilitator for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Workforce Excellence Network and is on the Central Missouri Workforce Investment Board.
