COLUMBIA, Mo. – “The Weekly Workplace,” a new podcast from the Missouri Training Institute (MTI), focuses on reigniting workplace success through insights, inspiration and practical tips for workers at all levels.
“Employees across the globe experienced an opportunity in 2020 to participate in more professional development,” says Dewey Thompson, director of MTI, which is a partnership of University of Missouri Extension and the MU Trulaske College of Business. “It’s important to continue to nurture that growth as we return to the workplace.”
In addition to Thompson, the weekly episodes feature Rae Lyon, MTI associate director, and Bryana Larimer, business trainer and consultant at MTI. They discuss what it takes to be a team player, a great manager and a leader others want to follow, Thompson says. The podcast will also feature interviews with outside experts from unique workplaces that offer different perspectives.
“The Weekly Workplace” is available at TheWeeklyWorkplace.podbean.com, on Spotify and at mti.missouri.edu.
Episodes run no longer than 30 minutes. “We’re making it easy for listeners to learn new skills or enhance those they already have,” Thompson says. “More than that, we’re offering to come along with them on that journey – listen to their needs and empower them through the knowledge we’ve gained in our two decades of training in workplaces.”
Thompson, Lyon, and Larimer encourage anyone with questions or suggestions for topics to email [email protected].
Missouri Training Institute is a partnership between the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business and University of Missouri Extension.
