SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Speakers and panelists are being lined up for the 2022 Republic Leadership Access Class (Oct. 18-19). All that is missing is you!

Republic is the focus of this training, which makes the class perfect for new residents who want to get connected and involved or any business with key employees who are new to Republic.

This leadership training will develop Republic leaders, help get local residents engaged in the community and strengthen the non-profit and social sectors. This class is custom-designed for people who live and work in Republic.

University of Missouri Extension Greene County and Leadership Springfield have joined forces to fill this identified community need in Republic.

WHY THIS TRAINING

“For Leadership Springfield, this aligns with our commitment to regionalism,” said Carrie Richardson, executive director of Leadership Springfield. “We are working to develop Republic leaders, get those leaders engaged, strengthen non-profit and social sectors, and help make the region stronger.”

With all of the growth happening in Republic, providing leadership training at a local level is vital, according to David Burton, a community development specialist with University of Missouri Extension and a resident of Republic.

“This partnership between MU Extension and Leadership Springfield makes this effort sustainable,” said Burton. “I am proud to see attendees of past leadership classes volunteering in Republic, starting non-profits, leading in the Chamber, and being involved all over town.”

Richardson, who also lives in Republic, said the goal is to help develop leadership capacity in Republic.

“I want to see residents of Republic become more connected locally and more engaged with their community. It leads to a healthier democracy, grows social capital, and has a significant positive economic impact,” said Richardson.
